Internets,
I have long accepted the fact that the future is already here, it is just not evenly distributed. However, it now appears that the Singularity is also already here. The creative playing field is increasingly level - for little money and knowledge you can make some extremely cool stuff these days.
That said, I’m officially stating for the record that I will henceforth release (under a Creative Commons license) the source code, material, and process instructions for any and all artistic works I produce on my own. This may not be done right away but it will be done. I will make an honest effort to document each process so that someone with little to no experience could reproduce the effect (and then go on to do it better than myself).
I will also post any creative ideas I have (or subconsciously steal). I do this in the hopes that someone somewhere out there may read one of them and bring it into reality while I myself my not have the time to pursue them all. Most of these ideas will suck. Probably all of them. The point is, if I DO stumble into a really good idea, I’m going to post it for some kid out there to beat me to the punch and maybe (hopefully) get rich from it.
Tumblr probably isn’t the best place to post projects, but I’ll certainly keep posting stuff there and on vimeo until I get a better blog set up to collect these things. More to come.
